Science Quest - Virtual Summer Camp opportunities

While we are not participating as an organization, we are sharing the details if you wish to sign up individually.

I wanted to reach out to let you know about our virtual Science camp running this Summer.

We are offering virtual camps this Summer, in accordance with Queen’s University’s mandate. We are very aware of ‘Zoom fatigue’ and shorter attention spans when online, so we have modified our camps to be half-day.

Since these camps are online and are only half-day, they will cost $50.00 for the week (the only exception is the 4-day week from August 3-6, 2021 which is $40.00 for the week). We will be sending out materials lists a week in advance so campers have the chance to collect the necessary materials. These materials lists will be made up of mostly household materials, with a few exceptions. This has been factored into the reduced price as well.

We are also offering optional material pick ups for campers in Kingston! Our material pick ups will be curbside, no-contact, drive-through pickups. There will be no extra charge for a material kit.

We will be running Kinder Creators (JK-Grade 1), Science & Engineering Camp (Grade 4-9), and Robotics Camp (Grade 4-9) in the mornings from 9:00am-12:00pm. We will be running Junior Thinkers (Grade 2-3), Girls Quest (Grade 4-9), and Tech & Coding Camp (Grade 4-9) in the afternoons from 1:00pm-4:00pm. These camps run every week of the Summer.

If this sounds like something that your Scouts would be interested in, would you be interested in partnering with us to send this information out to them? We want to reach as many campers as we can this Summer! We can provide you with a formal newsletter to forward to your mailing list if you are interested.

Thanks,

Michaela Harper Science Quest Head Director director@sciencequest.ca http://sciencequest.ca
